The 507 type provides slightly more strength than 501, which results in the last increment of the PIP extension being achieved more easily. The 507 type has a wider bent PIP dorsal pad, which distributes the pressure over a large area and the steel spring can be bent to adjust to the pressure. The pressure is about 340 gr. for 15° flexion.
